In 24 NCAA appearances at Indiana, Hoosier teams under Bob Knight won 42 of 63 games (.667), winning titles in 1975-76, 1980-81, and 1986-87, while losing in the semi-finals in 1973 and 1992.

Famous quotes containing the words indiana and/or university:

If the federal government had been around when the Creator was putting His hand to this state, Indiana wouldn’t be here. It’d still be waiting for an environmental impact statement.
    Ronald Reagan (b. 1911)

It is in the nature of allegory, as opposed to symbolism, to beg the question of absolute reality. The allegorist avails himself of a formal correspondence between “ideas” and “things,” both of which he assumes as given; he need not inquire whether either sphere is “real” or whether, in the final analysis, reality consists in their interaction.
Charles, Jr. Feidelson, U.S. educator, critic. Symbolism and American Literature, ch. 1, University of Chicago Press (1953)
