Minichamps, Schabak, Revell, and Herpa have made die-cast and plastic models of the Z1. Additionally, 16,000 phone cards (10,000 in February 1992 and 6,000 in November 1997) featuring pictures of the Z1 were issued in France.
The BMW Z1 also had a very small part in the Jackie Chan film, Armour of God II: Operation Condor.
