Bluegrey Carpetshark - Human Interactions

Human Interactions

Harmless to humans, the bluegrey carpetshark is occasionally captured incidentally by commercial fisheries or hooked by recreational anglers. Small numbers are collected for the private aquarium trade, as it is attractive (especially young sharks) and probably adapts well to captivity. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has assessed this species as Vulnerable, citing its narrow habitat preferences, limited range in a heavily populated region, and apparent rarity.

Famous quotes containing the words human and/or interactions:

The cities are the principal home and seat of the human group. They are the coral colony for Man, the collective being.
    Alfred Döblin (1878–1957)

Whereas children can learn from their interactions with their parents how to get along in one sort of social hierarchy—that of the family—it is from their interactions with peers that they can best learn how to survive among equals in a wide range of social situations.
    Zick Rubin (20th century)
