Bluegreen Communities

Bluegreen Corporation is a public timeshare resort developer, based in Boca Raton, Florida. More than 60 Bluegreen resorts employ approximately 4,300 employees nationwide. Since 1996, Bluegreen has managed, marketed and sold a timeshare plan with more than 160,000 owners, 60 owned or managed Bluegreen resorts, and access to more than 4,000 resorts worldwide. Bluegreen develops planned residential communities or planned unit developments (PUDs) by acquiring large sections of unimproved land outside major U.S. cities and divides them into smaller units ranging in size from 1/4 acre up to 25 acres (100,000 m2). They also acquire partially finished communities to complete the construction on those developments. The smaller units are sold to individuals or building developers as residential home sites and the development is marketed as a master-planned community. The corporation improves the infrastructure by constructing roads, utilities, and residential amenities. After the infrastructure is completed, ownership and maintenance responsibility are turned over to the local government, utility companies, and the property owners association. Covenants are also set to define the context of the future building improvements.

Bluegreen also provides several comprehensive, turn-key, fee-for-service resort management, financial, lead generation and sales services to resort developers and lenders.

Famous quotes containing the words bluegreen and/or communities:

I come to one bush of berries so ripe it is a bush of flies,
Hanging their bluegreen bellies and their wing panes in a Chinese
    screen.
The honey-feast of the berries has stunned them; they believe in
    heaven.
    Sylvia Plath (1932–1963)

... feminist solidarity rooted in a commitment to progressive politics must include a space for rigorous critique, for dissent, or we are doomed to reproduce in progressive communities the very forms of domination we seek to oppose.
    bell hooks (b. c. 1955)
