In Thailand, stores are banned from selling alcohol between midnight-11am and 2pm-5pm. Alcohol sales are also banned during many holidays, especially those related to the King of Thailand, and election periods. The ban is sometimes skirted by wrapping newspaper or other covering around beer bottles so as to not openly violate it, especially at venues serving tourists.
