Blazing Dragons - Basketball Team

Basketball Team

Blazing Dragons is also the name used by the Chiang Kai Shek College Scout Basketball Team that emerged champions since 2006 to present (6 years and still going) in the annual Baden Powell Cup Basketball Tournament organized among Chinese-Filipino and other guest schools in Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is known as the only legitimate basketball team in the world organized based on the ideals of Scouting where players are guided by the Scout Oath and Law. It is highly competitive in many inter-high school leagues in the Philippines, particularly in the National Capital Region.

Famous quotes containing the words basketball and/or team:

Perhaps basketball and poetry have just a few things in common, but the most important is the possibility of transcendence. The opposite is labor. In writing, every writer knows when he or she is laboring to achieve an effect. You want to get from here to there, but find yourself willing it, forcing it. The equivalent in basketball is aiming your shot, a kind of strained and usually ineffective purposefulness. What you want is to be in some kind of flow, each next moment a discovery.
    Stephen Dunn (b. 1939)

I also heard the whooping of the ice in the pond, my great bed-fellow in that part of Concord, as if it were restless in its bed and would fain turn over, were troubled with flatulency and bad dreams; or I was waked by the cracking of the ground by the frost, as if some one had driven a team against my door, and in the morning would find a crack in the earth a quarter of a mile long and a third of an inch wide.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
