Black Jesus (song)
"Black Jesus" is a song by American rapper, singer Everlast from his 2000 album Eat at Whitey's. The song was released as a single in October 2000.
The song itself is not about religion, as Everlast sings about how his career has had it ups and downs. The video was directed by Jonas Ã…kerlund, and featured Everlast walking around the streets of London and the London Underground, passing very strange people, makes it to the top, and walks past clowns and little people. The video later ends when Everlast has made it to the top of a building. Two parts of the video were cut for TV, mainly the part where he is walking along the road and gets hit by car, and at the end of video where Everlast jumps off the top of the building. The video received heavy rotation on UK music channels Kerrang TV and Q Television.

Famous quotes containing the words black and/or jesus:
“I thought when I was a young man that I would conquer the world with truth. I thought I would lead an army greater than Alexander ever dreamed of. Not to conquer nations, but to liberate mankind. With truth. With the golden sound of the Word. But only a few of them heard. Only a few of you understood. The rest of you put on black and sat in chapel.”
—Philip Dunne (19081992)
“Each man too is a tyrant in tendency, because he would impose his idea on others; and their trick is their natural defence. Jesus would absorb the race; but Tom Paine or the coarsest blasphemer helps humanity by resisting this exuberance of power.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
