In Canada
The out-migration and suburbanization trend can also be observed in Canada. Although Canada's Black population has always been more middle-class than its counterpart in the United States, many urban Black Canadian communities are being replaced as the residents move to the suburbs. There is a large and growing Black population in Toronto's western and eastern suburbs, such as: Brampton, Mississauga, and Ajax. Low-income, inner city neighbourhoods previously associated with Black Canadians in Montreal & Toronto such as Jane-Finch, Regent Park, Malvern have shown a decline in Black population in recent years, coupled with an increase in Asian and Latin American immigrant populations.
