Bishop's Cleeve - Education

Education

Bishops Cleeve has two primary schools; Grangefield is the relatively newest primary school built after the Western extension of Bishops Cleeve, built on land owned by the Zurich and Capita who are situated in the tallest and biggest commercial building in Bishops Cleeve behind the school.

The other primary school (Bishops Cleeve Primary Academy School) is at the heart of Bishops Cleeve situated near town/village centre. It is the oldest and biggest primary school and well known for performing considerably well. The school recently became an academy school and hosts main events during the school year.

Cleeve secondary school has recently been developing dramatically after millions of pounds of school funding. With the money they modernized old parts of the school with brand new Science, IT, Modern Languages and Learning skills departments. The school has recently been facing criticism after deciding to change the school logo. The original logo was a Bishops hat which is the logo for the football team, primary school, many shops and even the logo of Bishops Cleeve itself.

Famous quotes containing the word education:

With a generous endowment of motherhood provided by legislation, with all laws against voluntary motherhood and education in its methods repealed, with the feminist ideal of education accepted in home and school, and with all special barriers removed in every field of human activity, there is no reason why woman should not become almost a human thing. It will be time enough then to consider whether she has a soul.
    Crystal Eastman (1881–1928)

Law without education is a dead letter. With education the needed law follows without effort and, of course, with power to execute itself; indeed, it seems to execute itself.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

Man is endogenous, and education is his unfolding. The aid we have from others is mechanical, compared with the discoveries of nature in us. What is thus learned is delightful in the doing, and the effect remains.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
