Bishop Bell School - Drama Productions

Drama Productions

The drama department produces either a play or musical each year. These were Bugsy Malone (2006), The Thwarting of Baron Bolligrew (2007), Grease (2008), and Christmas Carol (2008). The productions have commonly taken place around Easter with two performances each from two casts. The productions have included help from the music, drama and dance departments, with the art department helping to design the set and pupils enlisted to organise and run props, sound and lighting.

Famous quotes containing the words drama and/or productions:

Our true history is scarcely ever deciphered by others. The chief part of the drama is a monologue, or rather an intimate debate between God, our conscience, and ourselves. Tears, griefs, depressions, disappointments, irritations, good and evil thoughts, decisions, uncertainties, deliberations—all these belong to our secret, and are almost all incommunicable and intransmissible, even when we try to speak of them, and even when we write them down.
    Henri-Frédéric Amiel (1821–1881)

It is well known, that the best productions of the best human intellects, are generally regarded by those intellects as mere immature freshman exercises, wholly worthless in themselves, except as initiatives for entering the great University of God after death.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)
