Birstall Shopping Park

Birstall Shopping Park is a shopping park located in Birstall, Batley, West Yorkshire. It contains a wide variety of retailers and includes the region's only IKEA store. Adjacent is another retail park, Junction 27 Retail Park, specialising in bulky goods and electronics. The section of the park containing homeware retailers Habitat and Homesense is known as Spring Ram Retail Park, and was built slightly later than the rest of the complex, however it is considered as a part of Birstall Shopping Park and is under common ownership.

It is located on the A62 near M62 Junction 27, between Birstall and Gildersome. The town of Morley is located close by, as is the boundary between the City of Leeds and Kirklees. However the park is located wholly within Kirklees. Often retailers on the park state the location as Leeds due to it being closer to Leeds than other larger settlements.

Famous quotes containing the words shopping and/or park:

If Los Angeles has been called “the capital of crackpots” and “the metropolis of isms,” the native Angeleno can not fairly attribute all of the city’s idiosyncrasies to the newcomer—at least not so long as he consults the crystal ball for guidance in his business dealings and his wife goes shopping downtown in beach pajamas.
—For the State of California, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

    and the words never said,
And the ominous, ominous dancing ahead.
We sat in the car park till twenty to one
And now I’m engaged to Miss Joan Hunter Dunn.
    Sir John Betjeman (1906–1984)
