Birkenhead Town Hall

Birkenhead Town Hall is a town hall and former civic building in Birkenhead, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. The building was the former administrative headquarters of the County Borough of Birkenhead, and more recently, council offices for the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. Birkenhead Town Hall remains the location of the town's register office. However, since the closure of the Wirral Museum in 2010, the future purpose of the Grade II* listed building is uncertain.

Famous quotes containing the words town and/or hall:

They say this town is full of cozenage:
As nimble jugglers that deceive the eye,
Dark-working sorcerers that change the mind,
Soul-killing witches that deform the body,
    Disguised cheaters, prating mountebanks,
And many such-like liberties of sin.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

He packs wool sheared in April, honey
    in combs, linen, leather
    tanned from deerhide,
    and vinegar in a barrel
hooped by hand at the forge’s fire.
    —Donald Hall (b. 1928)
