Birchwood is located close to the intersections between the M6 and M62 and the M6 and M56 and the railway station on the Liverpool--Manchester train line. There are frequent bus services (routes 24, 25, 26 and 27) to Warrington town centre, and to Culcheth and Leigh (routes 28 and 28A).
