Billy Davies - Personal Life

Personal Life

Billy Davies is the brother of John Davies and the brother-in-law of John Spencer. Davies signed both his brother and Spencer when he was manager of Motherwell.

In the aftermath of the perjury conviction of his childhood friend, Tommy Sheridan – HM Advocate v Sheridan and Sheridan – Davies was alleged to have taken part in group sex alongside Sheridan, journalist Anvar Khan and Laura Smith. Davies denied the allegations and his wife, Martha, publicly asserted that she believes her husband "100%". He strenuously denied the allegation.

Famous quotes containing the words personal life, personal and/or life:

He hadn’t known me fifteen minutes, and yet he was ... ready to talk ... I was still to learn that Munshin, like many people from the capital, could talk openly about his personal life while remaining a dream of espionage in his business operations.
    Norman Mailer (b. 1923)

What had really caused the women’s movement was the additional years of human life. At the turn of the century women’s life expectancy was forty-six; now it was nearly eighty. Our groping sense that we couldn’t live all those years in terms of motherhood alone was “the problem that had no name.” Realizing that it was not some freakish personal fault but our common problem as women had enabled us to take the first steps to change our lives.
    Betty Friedan (20th century)

You want to prepare your child to think as he gets older. You want him to be critical in his judgments. Teaching a child, by your example, that there’s never any room for negotiating or making choices in life may suggest that you expect blind obedience—but it won’t help him in the long run to be discriminating in choices and thinking.
    Lawrence Balter (20th century)
