The city's tallest building is the 12-storey Orissa State Housing Board. The tallest residential building in the city is eight-storey high. There are plans to construct taller buildings. In 2009, nearly 50 high-rise buildings have been approved by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority. These include five buildings that would have more than 20 storeys. The Orissa Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) plans to construct Signature Tower, an 18-storey building by to be constructed on a 5.47 acre plot next to the existing Fortune Tower at an estimated cost of 1,470 million.
