She is the sister of swimming champion Adrian Turner and wife of Olympic rower James Cracknell with whom she has a son, Croyde, born in October 2003, and two daughters, Kiki, born in March 2009 and Trixie, born April 2011. She has a first class degree in English from the University of Manchester.
