The 1996 Best of the Super Juniors was held from May 24 to June 12, and was the first to use the two-block format, featuring 7 wrestlers in each block. The winner, Black Tiger, would unsuccessfully challenge The Great Sasuke for the championship on June 17, 1996.Note that some tournament scores for lower-ranked wrestlers are unknown.
