One of the main successes of Best Buy's arrival in the UK was its digital offer. The online element changed how consumer electronics was presented online in the UK with an aim of bringing real customer service and information to the visitor.
The online presence provided a state of the art transactional website, with additional content that had never been seen before. Including real social media, help guides, user generated content (UGC) and video platforms. Perhaps the biggest difference was TechXperts which saw general users undertake video reviews of products for Best Buy. This resulted in rivals Comet and Dixons launching similar content.
Whilst in operation the digital platform won awards for its Social Media presence, affiliates programme and mobile offer.
