The Berry Mansion was built in Frankfort, Kentucky, in 1900 by George Franklin Berry. It is located on a hill just west of downtown that overlooks the state capitol building.
The 200-acre (0.81 km2) estate surrounding the home was named "Juniper Hill" after the red cedar trees (Juniperus virginiana) located on the property.
Famous quotes containing the words berry and/or mansion:
“A grandchild is a miracle, but a renewed relationship with your own children is even a greater one.”
—T. Berry Brazelton (20th century)
“Look,
I draw the sword myself; take it, and hit
The innocent mansion of my love, my heart.
Fear not, tis empty of all things but grief.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
