Ben Is Dead

Ben Is Dead was a Los Angeles-based zine published from 1988 through 1999. Its creator, Deborah "Darby" Romeo, got its name from a dream she had about her husband Ben, a Frenchman she divorced not long into the magazine's run. Romeo would later write that during the magazine's early days Ben found the title amusing, and would introduce himself to people as "Ben, from Ben is Dead."

Famous quotes containing the words ben and/or dead:

Mrs. Robinson, you’re trying to seduce me. Aren’t you?
Calder Willingham, screenwriter, Buck Henry, screenwriter, and Mike Nichols. Ben Braddock (Dustin Hoffman)

    There are flood and drouth
Over the eyes and in the mouth,
    Dead water and dead sand
    Contending for the upper hand.
    The parched eviscerate soil
Gapes at the vanity of toil,
    Laughs without mirth.
This is the death of the earth.
