Disc Golf
On May 15, 2005 Askren made his disc golf debut at Fox Valley Open and came in placed 33rd. Askren entered 4 more tournaments through 2009 including coming in 10th in Montrose Open, 8th in Copper Mountain Open, 2nd in Highnoon at Indiantown, and 10th in Bayville Bash at the Beach. In 2006 Askren competed in two more intermediate coming in 3rd Alabama Amateur Open and 151st at the Bowling Green Amateur Championships. On May 13, 2006 Askren took a second shot at Fox Valley Open this time coming in 5th and finished the year with 9th place in St. Louis Open and 46st in PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships.
On July 10, 2010 Askren made his professional debut going 65th in Brent Hambrick Memorial Open.
