Belgian Rock

Belgian Rock

Rock and roll was established in Belgium only in the late 1970s, long after the style had penetrated most of the rest of the world. Before the 1980s began, several Belgian bands had found an audience, especially TC Matic. Though Belgium is a small country, it counts a large number of rock bands.

Modern bands include Antwerp's dEUS and its numerous offshoots, like Dead Man Ray and Zita Swoon.

The indie and rock music scenes in Belgium is mainly active in the three biggest cities Antwerp, Ghent, and Brussels.
