Beisfjord Bridge

Beisfjord Bridge (Norwegian: Beisfjordbrua) is a bridge that crosses the Beisfjorden on the west side of the town of Narvik in Nordland county, Norway. The 375-metre (1,230 ft) long bridge connects Ankenes, a residential area on the west side of Narvik, to the city centre of Narvik. Ankenes is on the southwestern side of the Beisfjorden, while the city center and the majority of the population is on the northeastern side.

Famous quotes containing the word bridge:

It launch’d forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself,
Ever unreeling them, ever tirelessly speeding them.

And you O my soul where you stand,
Surrounded, detached, in measureless oceans of space,
Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the spheres to connect them,
Till the bridge you will need be form’d, till the ductile anchor hold,
Till the gossamer thread you fling catch somewhere, O, my soul.
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)
