Beat Angel Escalayer - Characters

Characters

Sayuka Kouenji- The main protagonist. She commands the ability to transform into a super powered being known as "Escalayer" upon "charging" the Doki Doki Dynamo through sexual activity. As the story develops she is seen to grow feelings toward Kyohei, eventually professing her love to him in the final episode. Her main weapon is a shape-shifting energy whip.

Kyohei Yanase- The school playboy. Kyohei is blackmailed into helping Sayuka after he is discovered eavesdropping on an unsuccessful charging session. While at first their relationship was strictly used for the aim of charging the Dynamo, Kyohei rediscovers the feelings he once held for her. Acknowledging these feelings, he proceeds to profess them to her in the final episode.

Madoka- Sayuka's gynoid companion. Self-sacrificing and no-nonsense, she often has to ground Sayuka and Kyohei back in reality with the importance of their mission. She initially considers Kyohei a simple tool, insulting his inability to stimulate Sayuka as time progresses. She later develops a deeper relationship with him towards the end, however. Her main weapon is a gun attached to her right arm.

Famous quotes containing the word characters:

    Waxed-fleshed out-patients
    Still vague from accidents,
    And characters in long coats
    Deep in the litter-baskets
    All dodging the toad work
    By being stupid or weak.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)

Thus we may define the real as that whose characters are independent of what anybody may think them to be.
    Charles Sanders Peirce (1839–1914)

A criminal trial is like a Russian novel: it starts with exasperating slowness as the characters are introduced to a jury, then there are complications in the form of minor witnesses, the protagonist finally appears and contradictions arise to produce drama, and finally as both jury and spectators grow weary and confused the pace quickens, reaching its climax in passionate final argument.
    Clifford Irving (b. 1930)
