Bean Sprouts Chicken

Bean Sprouts Chicken (Cantonese transliteration: Ngah Choi Kai; or Malay: Taugeh Chicken/Taugeh Ayam) is a similar dish to Hainanese chicken rice.

One of the small differences is that Bean Sprouts Chicken comes with a plate of beansprouts, famous throughout the city of Ipoh. The steamed chicken is served with light soya sauce flavoured with oil.

Famous quotes containing the words sprouts and/or chicken:

The partridge and the rabbit are still sure to thrive, like true natives of the soil, whatever revolutions occur. If the forest is cut off, the sprouts and bushes which spring up afford them concealment, and they become more numerous than ever. That must be a poor country indeed that does not support a hare. Our woods teem with them both.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Clogged and soft and sloppy eyes
Have lost the light that bites or terrifies.
There are no swans and swallows any more.
The people settled for chicken and shut the door.
    Gwendolyn Brooks (b. 1917)
