Stadium

The Baylor Bears have played their home games at Floyd Casey Stadium, originally known as Baylor Stadium, since the facility opened in 1950. Floyd Casey Stadium has a seating capacity of 46,000 and has undergone multiple renovations, most recently in 2005. Prior to the Bears time at Floyd Casey Stadium, the Bears played at Municipal Stadium (1936–1949), Cotton Palace (1926–1929), and Carroll Field (1906–1925 and 1930–1935). As of the 2012 season, Carroll Field has been the only on-campus homefield for the Bears. Baylor University has begun construction of a New Baylor Stadium on the north bank of the Brazos River, scheduled to open for the 2014 football season with the first game scheduled for August 30, 2014 against former SWC rival Southern Methodist University (SMU).

It’s no accident that of all the monuments left of the Greco- Roman culture the biggest is the ballpark, the Colosseum, the Yankee Stadium of ancient times.
    Walter Wellesley (Red)

In their eyes I have seen
the pin men of madness in marathon trim
race round the track of the stadium pupil.
