The Battle of Pingxingguan (Chinese: 平型关战役; pinyin: Píngxíng Guān Zhànyì), also commonly called the "Great Victory of Pingxingguan" (Chinese: 平型关大捷; pinyin: Píngxíng Guān Dàjié) in Mainland China, was an engagement fought between the 8th Route Army of the Communist Party of China and the Imperial Japanese Army on September 25, 1937.
It resulted in a minor, morale-boosting victory for the Chinese Communists with an otherwise insignificant number of casualties and a small amount of captured supplies.
