Barrow-in-Furness Sixth Form College

Barrow-in-Furness Sixth Form College is a sixth form college located in the outskirts of Barrow-in-Furness, established in 1979. Barrow Sixth Form College is one of the few purpose-built sixth form colleges in the country and unique within Cumbria. The buildings have been specially designed for students over the age of sixteen and include facilities for physically disabled students. A new wing and extensive alterations including a new library have recently been built, and there are further extensions planned. The college primarily educates students within the age range of 16–18 years (around 900 enrolled), as well as courses for adult learners. The college principal is David Batten, and the college employs over 120 members of staff.
