It is 165 feet(50 meters) above the mean sea level.By road the distance from guwahati is 135 kms(84 miles) and by train the distance is only 113 kms(70 miles) . It is connected with Guwahati with local trains and Line Buses from Adabari(Guwahati). It takes approximately 3 hours by mail trains and 1hour 50 minutes to reach there.And by buses it takes 3-4 hours to rech there. It is situated in western Assam, It is 21km far from Dist HQ of Barpeta.
