Additional Evidence From Maps

The 1858 OS map shows the spelling as 'Giffen' and indicates the presence of a small whinstone quarry at the bottom of the brae that runs towards Burnhouse. Famous quotes containing the words additional, evidence and/or maps:

When I turned into a parent, I experienced a real and total personality change that slowly shifted back to the “normal” me, yet has not completely vanished. I believe the two levels are now superimposed, with an additional sprinkling of mortality intimations.
    Sonia Taitz (20th century)

I know that in this I am speaking for the members of the two houses, who would rejoice as much as I would to be released from this unbearable situation.
    Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924)

The faces of most American women over thirty are relief maps of petulant and bewildered unhappiness.
    F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896–1940)
