Baron Max Wladimir Von Beck

Baron Max Wladimir von Beck (6 September 1854, Vienna – 20 January 1943, Vienna) was an Austrian and statesman.

Baron Max Wladimir von Beck was recently selected as the main motif of an Austrian collectors' coin, the 100 Years of Universal Male Suffrage commemorative coin, minted on January 10, 2007. The coin design is based on a historic photo of the opening session of Parliament in 1907, right after the elections. The two oval portraits in the foreground are of the Emperor Franz Joseph and the Baron, who were responsible for putting the reform through.

Famous quotes containing the words baron, max, von and/or beck:

My hand and pen are not in plight,
As they have been of yore.
Thomas Vaux, 2d Baron Vaux Of Harrowden (1510–1566)

I learned from the git-go in the joint to get in touch with the soft, nurturing side of myself, the feminine side.
Wesley Strick, U.S. screenwriter, and Martin Scorsese. Max Cady (Robert DeNiro)

Which government is the best? The one that teaches us to govern ourselves.
    —Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749–1832)

In front of that sinner of a husband,
    she rattled off
    only those words
that her pack of vile-tongued girlfriends
    taught her
    as fast as she could,
    and after,
    began to behave
at the Love-god’s beck and call.
    It’s indescribable,
    this natural, charming
    path of love,
    paved with the gems
    of inexperience.
    Amaru (c. seventh century A.D.)
