Bareilly - Economy & Institutions

Economy & Institutions

Since the period of Liberalization in India, Bareilly is one of the fastest growing cities in the region on account of its booming economy. Trade and commerce have flourished in the urban city and followed diversification, though the rural economy of the district is largely agrarian.

Identified as a "Counter Magnet", Bareilly is equidistant from New Delhi, the capital of India, and Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, and thus has a lot of potential for setting up industries and to attract people to settle in the area.

Famous quotes containing the words economy and/or institutions:

The counting-room maxims liberally expounded are laws of the Universe. The merchant’s economy is a coarse symbol of the soul’s economy. It is, to spend for power, and not for pleasure.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Good government cannot be found on the bargain-counter. We have seen samples of bargain-counter government in the past when low tax rates were secured by increasing the bonded debt for current expenses or refusing to keep our institutions up to the standard in repairs, extensions, equipment, and accommodations. I refuse, and the Republican Party refuses, to endorse that method of sham and shoddy economy.
    Calvin Coolidge (1872–1933)
