The island can be reached via Ceres bus from Cebu City (leaves from the North Bus Terminal near SM City Shopping Mall) to Hagnaya Wharf in San Remigio, Cebu then take the ferry. Ferry nominally operates a two‑hourly service from about 6:30 a.m. until about 6:30 p.m. with journey time about 75 minutes. No overnight ferries currently operate.

There is another ferry service from Bantayan municipal wharf to Cadiz City, Negros Occidental (or Sagay city) which operates once daily.

There is no scheduled ferry service from Cebu City.

There are currently no scheduled flights to Bantayan Airport, although Mid‑SEA Express occasionally offers an intermittent schedule. It is also possible to charter small private aircraft air taxis from Mactan‑Cebu International Airport.

within the Bantayan municipal port area. Currently (2012) it is not operational.
