BANTAY (Ilocano:Ili ti Bantay, Filipino:Bayan ng Bantay) is one of the Municipalities of Ilocos Sur, situated just Northeast (or as a Gateway) of Vigan, the Provincial Capital. Transversed via the Manila North Road. Bantay is approximately 137 kilometers North of San Fernando City, La Union, the Regional Capital of Ilocos Region, and 406 kilometers away from the City of Manila, the Nation's Capital. It is located 17°35′05″ North of the Equator, and 120°23′21″ East of the Prime Meridian. Based on the latest Population Census (2011), it grew more than 1% of its population last 2010 - 35, 598 people in 6,734 households.
