Houses

The college gives significant opportunity for improving their student's sport skills to accomplish their aptitudes. The students of the BCC are divided in to four houses to improve their skills and attitudes.

  • Tissa
  • Gamunu
  • Vijaya
  • Abhaya

The names of the houses are derived from past kings of Sri Lanka. Annually the college organize inter-house athletic games to improve the athletics skills of the students as well as their team spirit. This provides great opportunity for the students to become good athletes in the future.

Famous quotes containing the word houses:

    Hast ever ben in Omaha
    Where rolls the dark Missouri down,
    Where four strong horses scarce can draw
    An empty wagon through the town?
    Where sand is blown from every mound
    To fill your eyes and ears and throat;
    Where all the steamboats are aground,
    And all the houses are afloat?...
    If not, take heed to what I say,
    You’ll find it just as I have found it;
    And if it lies upon your way
    For God’s sake, reader, go around it!
    —For the State of Nebraska, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

    To me heaven would be a big bull ring with me holding two barrera seats and a trout stream outside that no one else was allowed to fish in and two lovely houses in the town; one where I would have my wife and children and be monogamous and love them truly and well and the other where I would have my nine beautiful mistresses on nine different floors.
    Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961)

    Do you see how the god always hurls his bolts at the greatest houses and the tallest trees. For he is wont to thwart whatever is greater than the rest.
    Herodotus (c. 484–424 B.C.)
