The Balmoral Reef Plate is a small tectonic plate (microplate) located in the south Pacific north of Fiji. Clockwise from the north, it borders the Pacific Plate, Australian Plate, Conway Reef Plate, and the New Hebrides Plate. The northern and western borders are a divergent boundary while the rest of the borders are transform and convergent boundaries.
Famous quotes containing the words reef and/or plate:
“As the bird trims her to the gale,
I trim myself to the storm of time,
I man the rudder, reef the sail,
Obey the voice at eve obeyed in prime:
Lowly faithful, banish fear,
Right onward drive unharmed;
The port, well worth the cruise, is near,
And every wave is charmed.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Say Yessum to the ladies, an Yessur to the men,
And when theys company, dont pass yer plate for pie again;
But, thinkin of the things yerd like to see upon that tree,
Jes fore Christmas be as good as yer kin be!”
—Eugene Field (18501895)
