Ball Possession

Ball possession is the amount of time a team in football possesses the ball during a game. Possession is usually expressed in a percentage (60% for team A, 40% for team B). Historically, Germany has had a dominating ball possession. Since 2006, Spain and FC Barcelona of the Liga BBVA are the best in keeping possession; Germany come in 2nd place with Bayern Munich. Xavi Hernandez is said to be the most possessive player today.

Famous quotes containing the words ball and/or possession:

Life ... is not simply a series of exciting new ventures. The future is not always a whole new ball game. There tends to be unfinished business. One trails all sorts of things around with one, things that simply won’t be got rid of.
    Anita Brookner (b. 1928)

Musick is certainly a very agreeable Entertainment, but if it would take the entire Possession of our Ears, if it would make us incapable of hearing Sense, if it would exclude Arts that have a much greater Tendency to the Refinement of human Nature; I must confess I would allow it no better Quarter than Plato has done, who banishes it out of his Common-wealth.
    Joseph Addison (1672–1719)
