In 1924, Sigasani Lakshumya started a small school near Veerabadhra Swamy temple. In 1966, it moved to ‘Kolaparthi vari sathram’ and later became Sathram Badi.

In 1927, the main school started in Kota veedhi with classes from 1st to 8th grade. In 1945, it added a high school curriculum. In 1948, the first SSLC exams were held here. In 1952, it moved to the present Z.P. Boys High School.

In 1964, due to the effort of Ex. M.L.A Bommu Rama Reddy & his wife Ramasubama, the Girls High School was started. Between 1924-64, all management of the schools were taken by the government.

In 1972, due to the effort of Ex. Minister B. Veera Reddy, Sri Kanyaka Parameshwari Jr. College was started. Similarly, B.V.R Degree College and B.Ed College were started by him in 1979 and 1984, respectively.

Three Degree colleges (S.V.B.R, S.R.N.B and Chaitanya) and a P.G affiliated college offering M.Sc chemistry (At SRNB) are also in Badvel.

Due to the effort of Ex. MLA V. Siva Rama Krishniaha, the Polytechnic College was started in 1981 near Polerama Temple.

The first public school with a Central syllabus, Noble Public School, was established by Mr. Shankar Reddy. It was later renamed and converted to the state syllabus after the year 2000.

An engineering college in Badvel at D Agraharam village was started by USA NRI, Pala Venkata Subbaiah for the academic year 2009-10. He belongs to the Madhavaram of Kadapa district. The Veerabrahmendra Institute of Technology includes courses of EEE, CSE, ECE and CIVIL. They are affiliated to JNTU Ananthapur and approved by AICTE.

There are number of primary government schools and two high schools, including one for girls. Recently, two corporate schools were also established.

NRI Sri Pala Venkata Subbaiah founded an engineering college in Badvel for the academic year 2009-10 to provide education to rural students. The college name changed to ACHARYA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (ACE), and is approved by AICTE and JNTU Anantapur.
