Famous quotes containing the words history of the, history of and/or history:

The history of the world is the record of the weakness, frailty and death of public opinion.
    Samuel Butler (1835–1902)

Three million stones of an average weight of 5,000 pounds, every stone cut precisely to fit into its destined place in the great pyramid. Their faith gave them strength, and their joy gave them song.
    William Faulkner (1897–1962)

    Henry Brooks Adams (1838–1918)
