History

The original line-up of Axis Point included, guitarist Charlie Whitney, keyboardist Eddie Hardin, bassist Charles McCracken and drummer Rob TownsendFamily and Medicine Head. They recorded Axis Point (1979) with the addition of guitarist and vocalist Bobby Tench, who had previously been a member of Streetwalkers. The songwriting on this album is split between Harden and Whitney with McCraken co-writing "Woman of the world" and "Fire it up". Townsend left and was replaced by Les Binks and they recorded their second album Boast of the Town (1980), on which Whitney and McCracken collaborate on most of the songs. Binks went onto drum with Judas Priest.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

There is no example in history of a revolutionary movement involving such gigantic masses being so bloodless.
    Leon Trotsky (1879–1940)

I believe that history might be, and ought to be, taught in a new fashion so as to make the meaning of it as a process of evolution intelligible to the young.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)

There is one great fact, characteristic of this our nineteenth century, a fact which no party dares deny. On the one hand, there have started into life industrial and scientific forces which no epoch of former human history had ever suspected. On the other hand, there exist symptoms of decay, far surpassing the horrors recorded of the latter times of the Roman empire. In our days everything seems pregnant with its contrary.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)
