Australian Auto Sport Alliance

The Australian Auto Sport Alliance (AASA) is an organisation formed to promote and administer motorsport in Australia. The AASA formed due to dissatisfaction with the governing body of Australian motorsport, CAMS, and organises race meetings independent of CAMS.

Classes of motor racing that have changed over to the AASA include Formula 4000 among others and the Australian Motor Racing Series(AMRS) is run by the AASA.

In 2007 the AASA will be moving to promote motorcycle road racing as well as car racing in Queensland. On the 28-29 April a meeting took place at Queensland Raceway for cars and motorcycles.

Famous quotes containing the words australian, sport and/or alliance:

The Australian mind, I can state with authority, is easily boggled.
    Charles Osborne (b. 1927)

Every American travelling in England gets his own individual sport out of the toy passenger and freight trains and the tiny locomotives, with their faint, indignant, tiny whistle. Especially in western England one wonders how the business of a nation can possibly be carried on by means so insufficient.
    Willa Cather (1876–1947)

Racism as a form of skin worship, and as a sickness and a pathological anxiety for America, is so great, until the poor whites—rather than fighting for jobs or education—fight to remain pink and fight to remain white. And therefore they cannot see an alliance with people that they feel to be inherently inferior.
    Jesse Jackson (b. 1941)
