Famous quotes containing the words australian, animal, health and/or laboratory:

Beyond the horizon, or even the knowledge, of the cities along the coast, a great, creative impulse is at work—the only thing, after all, that gives this continent meaning and a guarantee of the future. Every Australian ought to climb up here, once in a way, and glimpse the various, manifold life of which he is a part.
    Vance Palmer (1885–1959)

Power is, in nature, the essential measure of right. Nature suffers nothing to remain in her kingdoms which cannot help itself. The genesis and maturation of a planet, its poise and orbit, the bended tree recovering itself from the strong wind, the vital resources of every animal and vegetable, are demonstrations of the self-sufficing and therefore self-relying soul.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

A major difference between witches and psychotherapists is that witches see the mental health of women as having important political consequences.
    Naomi R. Goldenberg (b. 1947)

For a novelist, a given historic situation is an anthropologic laboratory in which he explores his basic question: What is human existence?
    Milan Kundera (b. 1929)
