Career

Freeman is from Mitchellville, Maryland and played for South Bowie Boys' and Girls' Club as a child. He attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. During his junior year at Georgetown, Freeman was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Prior to the 2010–11 season, Freeman was named the pre-season Big East Conference Player of the Year. In July 2011 he signed with Fulgor Libertas Forlì in Italy for one season.
