ATR (aircraft Manufacturer) - Proposed

Proposed

  • ATR 82 - During the mid-1980s, the company investigated a 78 seat derivative of the ATR 72. This would have been powered by two Allison AE2100 turboprops (turbofans were also studied for a time) and would have a cruising speed as high as 330kt. The ATR-82 project (as it was dubbed) was suspended when AI(R) was formed in early 1996.
  • ATR stretch - In 2007, as a response to the Q400X proposal, ATR floated the idea of a 90-99 seater stretch. As of 2009, it was considered as part of the future -900 series ATR family.
  • new 90-seat ATR - In 2011, a 90-seater proposal was planned to be brought to its shareholders for 2012. As of 2012, a new cleansheet design has been considered in the 90-seat segment, for a 2017 launch.

Famous quotes containing the word proposed:

I have always been, am, and propose to remain a mere scholar. All that I have ever proposed to myself is to say, this and this I have learned; thus and thus have I learned it; go thou and learn better; but do not thrust on my shoulders the responsibility for your own laziness if you elect to take, on my authority, conclusions the value of which you ought to have tested for yourself.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)

He [Roosevelt] has made some speeches that indicate that he is going quite beyond anything that he advocated when he was in the White House, and has proposed a program which is absolutely impossible to carry out except by a revision of the Constitution.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

We have no one to blame for the Kennedys but ourselves. We took the Kennedys to heart of our own accord. And it is my opinion that we did it not because we respected them or thought what they proposed was good, but because they were pretty. We, the electorate, were smitten by this handsome, vivacious family.... We wanted to hug their golden tousled heads to our dumpy breasts.
