CEO, Leon Patitsas
Leon Patitsas has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Maritime, since he founded the company in 2004. Mr. Patitsas has over 15 years of experience in Shipping and prior to heading Atlas he gained valuable experience in sale and purchase, chartering and corporate finance positions. Mr. Patitsas has established a company with a transparent corporate identity and has promoted a corporate culture based on teamwork, loyalty and hard work. He has implemented high safety standards and environmental awareness and has made the business more efficient and cost effective. In the 90’s Mr. Patitsas worked for a bank in New York as a member of the team that invested in hedge funds. He also possesses hands on experience having worked as an engineer onboard a ship. Mr. Patitsas has a Master of Science from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. He is the VP of the committee of Skuld P&I Club, a Norwegian Insurance Organization. He was born in London and is a British and Canadian citizen.
