Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League - League Expansion

League Expansion

George Washington University and the University of Maryland joined the league at the start of the 2010-11 season. The addition of these programs added to the competitive play in the league and is part of the expansion plan led by ACCHL Commissioner Don Martin. Plans are to continue expanding from to the current seven team league to twelve teams in the near future.

Elon University is joining the ACCHL for the 2012-2013. Elon, a relatively new program formally with the BRHC, has quickly demonstrated an excellent brand of competitive hockey that is largely responsible for its elevation to the D2 level. It is a natural fit with the rest of the ACCHL teams. The Phoenix are moving to the D2 level after only one year in the BRHC at the D3 level.

Famous quotes containing the words league and/or expansion:

He will deliver you from six troubles; in seven no harm shall touch you. In famine he will redeem you from death, and in war from the power of the sword. You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, and shall not fear destruction when it comes. At destruction and famine you shall laugh, and shall not fear the wild animals of the earth. For you shall be in league with the stones of the field, and the wild animals shall be at peace with you.
    Bible: Hebrew, Job 5:19-23.

We are caught up Mr. Perry on a great wave whether we will or no, a great wave of expansion and progress. All these mechanical inventions—telephones, electricity, steel bridges, horseless vehicles—they are all leading somewhere. It’s up to us to be on the inside in the forefront of progress.
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)
