The Atlanta Trumpet Festival is hosted by the Atlanta Trumpet Ensemble under the direction of Kay and David Fairchild. The Festival started in conjunction with the creation of the "Atlanta Youth Trumpet Ensemble" in 2004 which has since been renamed the Atlanta Trumpet Ensemble. The festival occurs annually around mid-September and lasts a total of two days. Throughout the day trumpet players from around North America participate in rehearsals and clinics given by some of the finest trumpet instructors of the United States.

Famous quotes containing the words trumpet and/or festival:
“Let the trumpet of the day of judgment sound when it will, I shall appear with this book in my hand before the Sovereign Judge, and cry with a loud voice, This is my work, there were my thoughts, and thus was I. I have freely told both the good and the bad, have hid nothing wicked, added nothing good.”
—Jean-Jacques Rousseau (17121778)
“Three times a year all your males shall appear before the LORD your God at the place that he will choose: at the festival of unleavened bread, at the festival of weeks, and at the festival of booths. They shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed; all shall give as they are able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God that he has given you.”
—Bible: Hebrew, Deuteronomy 16:16,17.
