Software
The Eee PC is shipped with either Microsoft Windows XP or a Linux distribution called Xandros.
Users have tried to install various other operating systems on Eee PCs. The following are known to work on most models:
- Linux especially Ubuntu, Gentoo, Mageia, Debian, Joli OS, Mint, Fedora and variants thereof (see below)
- Chrome and Android, and other Unix-like systems
- Mac OS X: v10.4, v10.5 and v10.6
- Syllable
- Haiku, development releases
- Microsoft Windows
