The Assemblies of God International Fellowship (Assemblies of God International Brotherhood) is a Pentecostal denomination rooted in the revival among the Scandinavian Baptists in the Midwest. Strongly against church organization, the Scandinavian Pentecostal Assemblies remained independent and later developed into incorporated denominations, such as the AGIF and the Fellowship of the Christian Assemblies.
Was founded in 1911. It has 700,000 adherents in USA. Its headquarters are presently in San Diego, California. Ministers can only receive credentials by being endorsed by a local church.
The AGIF should not be confused with the International Assemblies of God Fellowship, and the Assemblies of God, both Pentecostal denominations though they have good fellowship with both organizations. The AGIF has several conferences each year around the country. Their magazine is called Fellowship

Famous quotes containing the words assemblies, god and/or fellowship:
“Whenever you pray, make sure you do it at school assemblies and football games, like the demonstrative creatures who pray before large television audiences. That is the real goal of the thing. But do not, I urge you, pray all alone in your home where no one can see. That does not get you ratings.”
—Garry Wills (b. 1934)
“Our religion vulgarly stands on numbers of believers. Whenever the appeal is madeno matter how indirectlyto numbers, proclamation is then and there made, that religion is not. He that finds God a sweet, enveloping presence, who shall dare to come in?”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“And sometimes I remember days of old
When fellowship seemed not so far to seek,
And all the world and I seemed much less cold,
And at the rainbows foot lay surely gold,
And hope felt strong, and life itself not weak.”
—Christina Georgina Rossetti (18301894)
