Transport and Locale
The main street is Dimokratias ('Democracy') Avenue. Eleusis Military Airport forms its communal and municipal boundary in its west, while Mount Parnitha is in the northeast. A small port is found in the south and the shores are aligned with trees; willow and other types of trees dominate the city's coastline. Egaleo Mountain rises southwest of it. Aspropyrgos's terrain is rocky.
Its nearest highway is GR-8A/E94, with an interchange 2 km south of the centre. The interchange was a junction until 1994, and was then closed off from 1996 until 1997 in order to extend the number of lanes to four. The main street also serves a road that linked the Peloponnese and the northern and eastern suburbs of Athens, while the industrial area is in the southeastern part of the Aspropyrgos ; the entire south is also industrialized. Attiki Odos is now accessible to its north with an interchange, and the high-speed rail runs north of it but without a nearby station.

Famous quotes containing the word transport:
“One may disavow and disclaim vices that surprise us, and whereto our passions transport us; but those which by long habits are rooted in a strong and ... powerful will are not subject to contradiction. Repentance is but a denying of our will, and an opposition of our fantasies.”
—Michel de Montaigne (15331592)
